As an underfunded underdog with only county commission political experience, Daryl wowed the delegates at Colorado Republican State Assembly in May with a fire-in-the-belly speech to lock out 5 other nominees from the party primary ballot with 70%. With a minor war chest of $11K, he won the party nomination to challenge the appointed incumbent in November.
