Clyde and Martha Woolworth were siblings and two of the earliest pioneers who homesteaded Jal, NM in the early 1900's. They bought adjacent pieces of land, and built a house on the border between their two properties, where Clyde's bedroom was on his land, and Martha's bedroom on her land. Their trust is what still funds the library to this day.
