Hello.
I don't claim to be photographer as such, but I just love to take photographs. I started my days (like many) using 35mm and with a mechanical Olympus OM series camera. I can just remember 110mm cartridges but let's not go there.

Living in Matlock, on the edge of the Peak District, I'm lucky to be surrounded by landscapes and scenery but I don't have any particular biase and I'll have a try at anything from sport to street scenes - usually with my trusty Nikon.

Please let's not start a Nikon/Cannon debate, because I'm inspired by WPC and all it stands for. The images posted here are superb and we can all learn from them. Good luck and welcome to the site and the truly world-wide collaboration of photographers

You can find me on the web: http://www.petermorley.me.uk/
Please feel free to email info@petermorley.me.uk for anything else

thanks

Peter Morley

The 911 memorial was a very peaceful and moving place to be, maybe somewhat eerie. This shot shows the crowds of visitors, as opposed to the memorial itself, onlooking silently in the bright afternoon sun

It's difficult to encapsulate Nassau in one shot, there were so many places to photograph and I can't upload them all. But mostly, to me, the simple colours are what make the place so lovely

I wanted to shoot a scene with a yellow cab in, and there's other images where I have managed this. But this one had the two guys starting to party by the sid eof the road which to me gave the shot some life and realism

These kids were simply having fun in the main square of Nassau, Bahamas. Shot in early November

I spotted this guy blowing into his Sax in Nassau and immediately took a few shots, spent some time talking to the guy afterwards, but only after parting with a few dollars in his tip bucket first...

Most of the shots I take are when I'm stood firmly on the floor, but I must admit the one looking down on Times Square did involve some dangerous leaning out of a window!

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum (known separately as the 9/11 Memorial and 9/11 Memorial Museum) are the principal memorial and museum, respectively. They commemorate the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed 2,977 victims

The Bahá'í House of Worship (or Bahá'í Temple) in Wilmette, Illinois, is the oldest surviving Bahá'í House of Worship in the world, and the apparently only one in the United States

Yellow fields of rape seed in Derbyshire (UK) with a lone tree in the background, spring, and a cloudy but bright day

View of the millennium bridge over the river Tyne in Newcastle, taken on a makeshift tripod and in the evening light, and tried to capture as much detail as I could

I was trying to sit right down on the floor, camera between my knees, wondering why I was doing this. I was trying to capture a low shot to encompass the cobbled street and the side wall of the Arena in Verona - but before I had squat right down the boy turned and gave me a look. Who know's what he was thinking !
Thanks

Shot taken in the winter months at Piazza Delle Erbe Verona, the late sun shimmered on the buildings to the left. Some CC suggests it's a distraction but I wanted to show the shot as it was without further editing. Up to you now!
Thanks

Black and white is a favourite and these were simply trees by the side of the river in the grounds of the gorgeous Chatsworth Estate, Derbyshire, 10 mins from my home
Thanks

These guys were making up outside the Arena in Verona just before a Placebo concert, I just thought it was an off beat shot
Thanks

Taken in Derbyshire, at a country park, and I happened to notice this little place just driving home from work. Shot low down over the water and laid on my front to capture the reflections
Thanks

I had to wait quite a while to capture this moment and it's of a Sunset at Egypt Point, which is on the IOW (Isle of Wight) Situated on the north side of the island about 10-15 mins walk from Cowes. I spotted the sun just lighting up the little beach huts and thought it made a lovely shot
Thanks

Reflections. By the side of the Harbour, Sirmione Lake Garda. Not only did I take time composing and shooting this, I also sat for quite a while afterwards soaking up the peace and quiet

The lake was so clear here that you can't see the water-line, so the boat appears to be tipped upwards. Sirmione Castle Lake Garda (Italy)

This is a shot taken looking over Lake Garda North Italy, I had to sit low in the water to the point my feet were wet and I was on the point of shipping down into the drink. I'd taken a few shots when a duck happened to pass by and I thought it lifted the subject a little so I chose this particular image. Enjoy, and thanks
