Tim Clay

Tim Clay Public
Hi, my name is Tim, and currently reside in the UK, North east England to be precise.

Ive been behind the lens for around 30 years now, having bought my first SLR at age 16, although I admit I have taken it a lot more serious in the last 12 years or so, still very much a hobbyist though
I would hesitate to say I specialise in any one one genre, but I do find myself gravitating more and more to landscape work of late, and love to document the local area and some of the fantastic scenery on offer

Im also proud to have been invited and participate, both on here and the Snap The Planet Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/snaptheplanet/

Feel free to view more of my work at http://www.pbase.com/jabtas

St Hilda’s Church on the Hartlepool Headland is one of the most important churches in the north of England, believed to be on the site of the monastery where Hilda was abbess in the 7th century. She later went on to found Whitby Abbey.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

After the fog burnt off, a beautiful patch of winter sun
Posted to Floral and Fauna about 969 days ago, 0 comment(s)
I just couldn't resist the fog this morning, although by time I got out I had missed the best of it

Just goes to show, that often the best sunset is well after the sun has set

Incredibly bored due to the incessant rain and featureless skies of late, I spotted my daughters shoes

"They'll do", I thought to my self

I was in need of some shutter therapy this evening, so a quick trip to the 'old faithful'

Once again I've broken all the rules on composition, but i just couldn't decide between foreground or sky

Another one from my tabketop series from a few years back
I really should revisit this little project, it often threw up some good stuff

1st rule of photography, "never shoot into the sun"

Ha, I ignore your rule and substitute my own ;-)

Tonight all too brief sunset, was stunning literally for less than 5mins then faded away to twilight

One from a wonderful frosty morning a few weeks back

Just happened to be chatting online with a few members of this group at 2am this morning, and I suddenly had this rash urge to set my alarm for 'stupid o'clock'

So just a little over two hours later, found me ankle deep in the freezing cold North Sea (and yes my boots leak), but results like this make the sacrifices all worth it
:-)

The camera has been gathering dust for far too long, I'm heading back to photoland

The swans even came over to see why there was a body laying face down in the mud lol

The swans had to form up a flotilla and break the ice this morning
Posted to Floral and Fauna about 1279 days ago, 1 comment(s)
Despite temps being well below freezing, it was rather a spectacular morning
Frost, fog and water make the perfect combination

I heard a rumour that this burnt out car was down some local woods, was worth the trek thru loads of mud to find it
