I'm a photographer from Denver, Colorado. I have always had a passion for shooting, starting out with a 110 film camera in the 70's and 80's, constantly asking my parents to buy more film. I graduated to an SLR in 1987 and have shooting every since.

I am also a web application architect, in this industry for over 20 years now and enjoy what I do very much. As the developer and webmaster of the World Photography Collaboration website, I'm able to combine my passion for photography with my experience in web application design - it's a perfect match.

Taken from a sandbar on Woman Key, about six miles off the coast of Key West. The water was so smooth, the sky and water just blended together in the distance and made it impossible to see where one ended and the other began.

When you're off the map and off the grid, little signs and arrows are especially important for navigation. In this case, a small sign pointing us to our designated route had been plastered with various stickers, causing me to miss a crucial turn.

Though hard to believe, this is an honest representation of the colors in the sky Saturday night. The colors were so saturated, even with a a low exposure compensation the saturation was still peaking the histogram.

A hawk carrying away its lunch. I wasn't prepared for this, grabbed the camera as I drove by, and nearly went in a ditch pulling over to snap this. Shutter speed was too low to get a super sharp photo, and I'd usually discard this but I love that he has a fresh kill in his talons.
