This is a young bird. As they grow older, the nice pattern on the wings is replaced with a dull grey. I prefer this pattern though. Shot from a kayak yesterday near Ottawa, Canada

Shot this heron a couple of hours ago. Didn't know which of the seven clicks to use, so I used them all to show its flight path.

Towneley Park is a great place to find birds of any kind, but, Herons are abundant and fantastic to photograph

The Heron Rookery is home to the Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret and Cormorants. It's located in a Metropark called Kensington in Milford, Michigan The tree stand on a small island surrounded by marsh in the lake. Canadian Geese can be found as well usually in the edges of the water and the base of the trees. This area is a favourite spot for many photographers, of all ages walks of life and skill levels. I love to come here and have been very fortunate to have the patience to " wait for it " and the right shot has presented itself. This is one of my more artistic endeavours.
