This building is now a museum. I went to school here for first grade and half way through second grade. This school served the families from a few small farming communities and the surrounding farms in the Okanogan highlands in north central Washington. From the time it was built in the early 1900s through the early 1960s it had 1st through 12th. The upper floors of the building had become unstable, so through the 60s, it was only 1st through 6th grades and we were not allowed to go any higher than the second floor. From about 1969 through sometime in the 1980s, it sat vacant. Then the Okanogan Highlands Historical Society opened it up as a museum. The classrooms are set up as if waiting for the kids to start class. There is a small gift shop in the library/music room and the gymnasium in the basement houses historical farm equipment from around the area.

First day with clearish skies after all the mess here in SC. Not the best location, but hey, ya take what ya can get.

A little different perspective on the wooden footbridge.

Not quite as clear as the other one, but this view shows the missing leg and the length of the spread out legs.

A little closer view of the lenticular clouds.

These lenticular, or lens-shaped clouds usually form over the top of a mountain. Occasionally the updrafts over a towering cumulus will give the same effect as a solid object (mountain) then the cross flow at the level of the top of the cloud causes the formation of the altocumulus standing lenticular clouds.

I found him in the new pet carrier when I got home from work.

Helped my son move out of his apartment today (Sunday) and this little guy/gal was in the lake in his back yard.

See if you can locate the four females, one male and the cast off skin.

This one is about 20 feet up on a light pole at the end of my driveway. Took me a while to get the focus and exposure right. I had one useable image out of about 8.
