Modern high rises grow in the background across the well protected bay of Cartagena de los Indios ancient defensive works.

Port side lamp and railing with background harbor lights provide abstract image against predawn midnight blue sky and water just off Istanbul, Turkey.
Experimenting with recently purchased Sony Alpha58 with 28-85mm kit lens and auto-functions.

Just learning my Sony Alpha 58 DSLR, while departing Venice on an eastern Mediterranean Sea cruise. Not knowing better, used full auto to take this shot, which did well replicating the brilliant topaz blue lighting of the yacht's namesake jewel, "Topaz." Later, discovered an article from an on line magazine, American Horsepower, I think, which listed this as one of the 10 most expensive private yachts in service about 2010 and as being own by a German industrialist.

Roosts remain available for Los Angeles harbor seagulls to perch on piers in cruise ship dock area.
