This immature bald eagle was being harassed by crows for sitting in a tree. She finally decided enough was enough and took off for parts unknown.

On a busy visitor day no one was to be seen in this section of the Harpers Ferry National Park. The scene reminded me of a Hopper painting.

The Trail Ahead sculpture always makes a good foreground for sunsets and lightning photos.

North of Jal, NM there is a sculpture titled "The Trail Ahead..." that depicts the homesteaders who founded the town. At first glance it looks like a real cattle drive going on. The artist that created it is Brian Norwood, a resident of Jal and accomplished artist. The cowboy figures are also facsimiles of real ranchers in the area. This photo was chosen to be on a postcard for the Jal Chamber of Commerce.

A very abstract addition from me today, anyone familiar with my work 'may' be able to figure it out ;-)

Canon EOS 20D
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
30s f/13.0 at 41.0mm

And no photoshop trickery either :-)

When you shoot long enough, every now and then something really cool happens. No photoshop or camera tricks on the bubble, but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

This was the final circuit of this four mile race at the Middleburg Spring Races. I was trying to blur the background while freezing the horses and jockeys. I didn't quite get the freezing I had hoped for, but I still like the feeling of movement in the result. What do you think, and any suggestions for shutter settings?
