Shy, anxiety ridden, granddaughter sings a solo of "Grease is the Word."

Color version of live solo performance of my granddaughter during Bishop Dunne High School Revue. She overcame extreme shyness and anxiety through practice, stage coaching by drama teacher, and RayBan sunglasses. This was taken from the edge of stage left using my 55-300mm Sony lens attached to my Sony Alpha58 DSLR ISO800 1/100 sec f/5.6 Exp -0.3.

Poor conditions means I would only subject you to two of my images :)

Look closely and you can see the mud on his antlers, he was bucking and running around, hooking the dirt with his horns and tossing it in the air... he was having a ball...

On the playgrounds of my childhood,
there were slivers and pinched fingers,
there were few safety rails and nothing
was coated with anything called
"Non slip" because
Kids slip, kids slide, kids fall, kids bleed...
but play all day regardless
Children navigate their lives.
In the age of "safety" overhauling,
helicopter parenting, hovering over afraid...
We teach our children to worry, fret, and fear.

Here's to the pinched fingers of the past.

Taking this photo did pose some difficulties. The wind direction affected the outcome very much. Handling the dark cityscape on one side and the bright fireworks on the other was the biggest challenge to me.

Some toys get left behind,
Abandoned to the rains,
Or the pockets of watchful mothers,
And idle passersby.

A little bit of play never hurt at the end of a long day driving.

Those gentle little fingers, curious mind.

The most fun. Taking my son to puddle jump is the best autumn activity I can think of. He loves it and I love watching the joy and exploration.

After a hard days of work..
I just love his hands and how hard they work to help support our family.. Never wishing to take the little things for granted, even if they look "gross"
his love for me and the family shows enough by how he treats me and how hard he works. He treats me like a queen!
His occupation is a fabricator welder leadman
