Walking past Mr. Clarkes house I decided to stop and knock on the door. To ask a small favor and to say hello.
His wife Delphine answered and when I asked after her husband informed me that Richard passed suddenly a few months ago.
I remember the last time I spoke to him, he was friendly and helpful as usual if a little distracted. He was a valuable and contributing member of our community and also a very kind man.
He has left behind the sweetest woman. After 35 years.

The state of North Carolina enacted a ban climbing up to the falls because people were trying to recreate that same stunt. I guess people don't use common sense since she ran across a board with a harness on, anything else would just be blatantly stupid.
