I had heard about the famous Dalles Mountain Ranch. People from miles around come to shoot this old car. I knew that if I wanted a shot, I had to act fast. The flowers had already reached their peak. I got up at 5 and drove 2 hrs to this place. It was totally worth losing a little sleep over. When I see stuff like this, I often wonder about its story. I wonder who the people were, and how the car happen to be left here, and why. No matter what the story is, though our photographs, the memories live on.

I heard a rumour that this burnt out car was down some local woods, was worth the trek thru loads of mud to find it

I love wondering in the woods and see what is out there, sometimes I find wild life and other times I find old vehicles - that have been taken over by "Mother Nature"

On the playgrounds of my childhood,
there were slivers and pinched fingers,
there were few safety rails and nothing
was coated with anything called
"Non slip" because
Kids slip, kids slide, kids fall, kids bleed...
but play all day regardless
Children navigate their lives.
In the age of "safety" overhauling,
helicopter parenting, hovering over afraid...
We teach our children to worry, fret, and fear.

Here's to the pinched fingers of the past.

An old farm house in Lopez Pa! This farm house was tucked deep in the country found this totally by accident! The colors of fall were definitely calling to be photographed!

Usually the attractive objects at Harper's Ferry are historic buildings. But if you wander through the non-tourist part of town you find other aged subjects. I did some slight processing with Topaz Impressions on this one to bring out the rust spot.
