Panama City Beach Florida at St. Andrews State Park

Shot on my Canon G16 compact when out on a dog walk. Shot into the light with a bit of underexposure to bring out the spray and white horses on the wave tops. Another reminder that the 'best camera' is whatever one you have with you at the time.

Another incredible Pismo Beach sunset

Storm drain at one of my favorite beaches...an interesting view of man and nature.

It had just rained before I took this shot, and this brief moment happened - the sky itself became a rainbow as the sun dipped below the horizon.

A very low tide day...had to walk out quite far on precarious rock outcroppings to get anything worthwhile...but it was worth it in the end.

Beautiful sunset this evening...although "blue hour" was socked in with a bank of gray clouds, so that was a bit of a bummer. Still managed a few good shots before that happened, though.

This was one of those shots that just sort of happened. I was waiting for the sunset and saw "the man on the lonely rock" and took a few snaps.

Quite a sea running off the NE coast today

A precarious outing...dodging waves and hiding under cliffs during passing rain showers.

I caught this as an "outtake" shot, and I rather liked the sunflare in the image. Something a little bit different...

One of the things I love most about the coastline where I live is the beautiful seacliffs...this was taken during the blue hour, just after the sun had done down and the sky went all pink and purple. Moments like these remind me why I love my camera so much.

I love how this wave broke just perfectly to almost frame the setting sun...

And the tide comes in and it goes back out...rhythmic and hypnotic, and yet one of earth's most powerful exhibitions.

As I stood there watching the sunset, I was reminded that env though life can be full of dark clouds, there are still beautiful moments to see and treasure.

This image was a long time coming for me. I had traveled to the beach several times this last summer, in hopes of an epic sunset. But each time I went, I was greeted with overcast skies or fog. I was beginning to think I was cursed with bad weather. Like an ugly cloud that followed me where ever I went. This time however, I was lucky enough to witness the most beautiful sunset I could have ever imagined. It even looked like the rocks had wings!! Sometimes, persistence pays off.

Winter wheat straw is gathered into bales/rolls by local farmer/rancher for winter feed along Colorado's Front range near Denver Airport.

When the Ocean is calm, or the tide is low, Thor's Well can seem very tame. But in a matter of moments, it can become a very dangerous place. While there is some risk being that close to it, I love feeling the power it has, and watching the waves come crashing in.

We had scouted out earlier in the day, where we wanted to set up for sunset. I had been practicing my long exposure for the waves, so I would be able to catch them just right as the sun was setting. It was not very easy. Only being 5'3, I had a hard time standing with the waves coming at me. I even got chased away a couple of times. But, I knew if I wanted to get my shot, I had to stand my ground, and take what the ocean had to give.

A group of surfers looking for the best place to paddle out at sunset.

Normally I choose to shoot at the beach during the "golden" or "blue" hours, but I found this particular scene irresistible. The sand and sea foam had me. I shot low for perspective and depth to showcase the waves crashing on the sand.
