We have a habit of naming the birds we see on a regular basis. This is Lorraine. One of the biggest Redtails I have ever seen. She gave me quite a show today, with plenty of photo ops in some fantastic lighting.

Flying in the Grass

I was looking for interesting insects or arachnids in the grass, and saw what I believe is the aril or coat from a seed. Probably left behind from one of the firs or hemlocks by one of the squirrels, which was caught on a small strand of silk which disappeared in the out of focus area.
