I found this guy flying over the lake, a foot caught on some long grass which was wet and dragging him down. He fell to the water once or twice, but got up again, flying with the extra weight hanging from his foot. I caught him, and carefully held him while untangling the grass from his foot. When I released him, he flew in a big circle around my kayak, as if to thank me, and it was then when I was able to take his photo.

I happened to be in right place when this little jumping spider decided he was gonna eat and I wasn't gonna stop him! This fly landed and the spider pounced from about 5 inches away, ka pow the fly is down for the count. But....the spider is right in the middle of my linoleum floor. Haha, he was so small he couldn't pull the fly, four legs going like hell backwards and he's going nowhere. So then he stops, I could tell he was thinking about option B, like taking me out so he could eat in peace. lol. As I moved around the spider and fly, a circle, he was eating as fast as he could and turning with me, always keeping his head toward me. Little guy had the heart of superman and he WAS NOT leaving his food behind. I finally left and let him finish his prize.

The Katydid...different angle and desaturated. They have a life of 24 hours and I suspect this one is actually dying.

Sitting on the front porch drinking my morning coffee...I spied a katydid on the carpet. I thought it was dead...it wasn't! Had to take some photos. The Katydid was very obliging! 😋 Katydid is a nickname for cicada.

The echinacea patch attracts these green bees. I always thought they were a fly but no, they are a bee.
