All is right with the world, as long as he gets the "poof"
Sometimes he picks them... sometimes he stomps on them.
If one that he picked gets damaged, then he stomps on it. :P

The movement, tracking a beautiful ghost of a girl.

I was concerned that while I loved this image it was hard to understand, then my almost two year old climbed up in my lap and said her name.

Surrounded in fallen leaves
Sodden underfoot.
No crisp, no crunch,
as is the norm here in the rainy season...

I'll Go Too - Carrie Newcomer

When I was small I often said
There were ugly things beneath my bed
I'd slip downstairs when I got scared
To the safety of dad's easy chair

That chair was like a long deep sigh
And I'd stay until he'd say, "it's time"
But he always smiles and put his hand in mine
And say," I'll go too."

[Chorus]
"I'll go too, I'll go too"
That's what he'd say and what he'd do
"don't go alone I'll walk with you
I'll go too."

When I was learning how to swim
I'd look at the water and back at him
But he took my hand and said
"we'll both jump in"
And "I'll go too."

[Chorus]

So many nights I've wandered
So many things to brave
So many acts of courage
We face each and everyday

It was almost noon in a white lace dress
I had my doubts if I could do the rest
He said, "take my hand and just do your best"
"and I'll go too"

[Chorus]

So many nights I've wandered
So many things to brave
So many acts of courage
We face each and everyday

In a quiet place in the April snow
It was time to finally let her go
So I took his hand and said, "I know"
"I'll go too"

[Chorus]

Someday we all will understand
And we'll walk right into the promised land
But I hope an angel takes me by the hand
And tells me "I'll go too"

"I'll go too, I'll go too"
That's what he'd say and what she'll do
"don't go alone I'll walk with you
I'll go too."

The little things in life
So often missed
Walked beside, but never seen

I was out walking this week with my husband and my son, at the trail we go to to show Orson the cows (which he loves) and on the way back from seeing the cows Orson and I were playing and I had turned my camera off but was wearing it, and chatting with my son about leaves and rocks and the snail shell Todd had just found for him. I looked up and saw Todd had bent down a small maple tree (they are like rubber) and before I could even think he had let it go and when the tree snapped up all the leaves stayed behind and hung in the air for a split second. It was amazing to see and would have been an incredible shot. Needless to say I missed it. But to humor me after I chided him for doing something awesome and not warning me first he saw there was one leaf left and pulled the tree down again so I could catch the single leaf before it fell. He looked as we walked for another tree small enough to bend, but it was a once in a lifetime shot and I missed it. But the image is sharp in my mind and Orson giggled and giggled.
Missed the shot, but had a moment.

Dreaming of the Bird King,
Dressed his best,
In all his dripping sparkles,
His disjointed shadow reflected,
Staring out, in quiet contemplation,
Ravens play in the winds of the coming storm,
Talking in the distance,
All is in motion, frozen in a moment
I'll hold my shiny balloons,
until the wind carries me away.

Local coffee shop out door table carving of ultimate boredom.
The owner always paints the tables and tries to fill them, they are just replaced with new carvings days later. Repeat offenders will spend days during separate visits working on them. Most are done with the butt end of a lighter (they are in the smoking section primarily) or the end of a pen, or whatever is near by.

There's a song by Billy Talent that in so many ways speaks to me of the town in which I live.
Sometimes it's so beautiful, but it's such a sad little place.

Empty playgrounds,
Always an eerie sight,
Echos of squealing children,
ghosts of fun had in summer sunlight
travelling through the autumn mists

Let those old chains lie another year,
The harvest season's over
Grass and grit won't do no harm
Just watch it with the mower

It's a dizzy life, the life of a vine
growing around and around
squeezing the life from your host
stifling their sunlight
piggybacking on their success

Steps, tread, prints, shoes
we all leave some kind or another
Show where we have been
but not ever where we will go
Even silent steps on dry ground,
Leaves a mark of some kind.

In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves... on the ground
Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves... on the ground

As the last of the summer blooms wither
and the rains make their way back home
we soak up the minutes in the morning sun
while my toddler dreams of the moon

Littered the ground, these sun drenched crunching leaves
cozy next to that picket fence,
Wading through them like sprinklers in the summertime
Brings home all that childhood wonder

On the playgrounds of my childhood,
there were slivers and pinched fingers,
there were few safety rails and nothing
was coated with anything called
"Non slip" because
Kids slip, kids slide, kids fall, kids bleed...
but play all day regardless
Children navigate their lives.
In the age of "safety" overhauling,
helicopter parenting, hovering over afraid...
We teach our children to worry, fret, and fear.

Here's to the pinched fingers of the past.

Tower over all,
we see
those leaves light upon the ground,
trod upon, no second thought
because the people like the sound

What is purple, orange, yellow, faded and worn.
Is gold.

Not the sharpest but that's kindof the point. I LOVE this image.

Sparkle and sunshine,
yellow dandy mornings
Dew tell me your secrets
Little Heart thought bubbles
floating into view

Reach young oak,
Reddened by the sun,
Take the sky and hold it tightly,
make ready for winters come,
drop your acorns, hats and all
to litter the ground below you
tucked neatly folded
in your falling leaves
becoming possibility next season

We reflect
Our self
Fall of sunshine, light of day
We reflect
Upon ourselves

Same shot, same settings (close as can be with a creative aperature)
Different lenses indeed.
LB 2.0 and Canon EF 55-250mm with a polarized UV filter
The lensbaby tends to warm things, at least as far as I have noticed a shot will always be a little warmer with my LB.
There is no zoom, so naturally that affects composition. And of course the tilt, which comes from the selective focus and the bokeh as it looks is because of my aperture disc which looks like a twinkling star with some dots around it. imagine a + symbol with no center and a dot in each angle and that's pretty close. The interchangeable apertures are one of the tings that makes LB so creative!

for someone to drag them away.

Lush lipstick colouring,
buds of last season,
dried, old, and ready for seed,
clinging to the limbs of their mother

Those who paint the colours of fall,
will splash red the leaves of the oaks,
fall all who wearily weather the seasons,
heaped in a crunching pile to blow south
for the winter

Because the adults aren't watching.

Until this curiosity is piqued,
Touch the dirt, the rocks and fallen leaves,
learn and love this season Autumn,
When soon floats in Jack Frost to tease.

I couldn't ask for a better husband, nor for a better father to our wonderful son.
I couldn't ask for anything more to love.

This is the epitome of what my fall will be like this year. And I couldn't be happier!

Walking past Mr. Clarkes house I decided to stop and knock on the door. To ask a small favor and to say hello.
His wife Delphine answered and when I asked after her husband informed me that Richard passed suddenly a few months ago.
I remember the last time I spoke to him, he was friendly and helpful as usual if a little distracted. He was a valuable and contributing member of our community and also a very kind man.
He has left behind the sweetest woman. After 35 years.
Rest peacefully Richard.
