Sunrise on the Calf of Man.

So you plan a shot, you've thought about for ages. Staying on a small island called the Calf of Man, helping with Voluntary work. Night time shot, M, tripod, headlight, redlight, remote etc..Full Moon ordered, and it came out from behind a bank of clouds at just the right time. Unfortunately, because of the exposed nature of lighthouses it was extremely windy. Had to put my weight on the tripod to hold steady. Despite that, the stars do look a tad blurred. I know this is not a perfect picture, but good practice, in pitch darkness. Nothing is ever perfect :)

This little lighthouse had considerable interest when it went up for sale last year for £10,000. The birds are Arctic Terns.

Fort Perch Rock Lighthouse is situated on the banks of the River Mersey

The rock formation is locally called the Drinking Dragon by the little Island call the Calf of Man off the south of the Isle of Man. This is a winter sunset. To set up tripod and remote shooting I used an App called Photographers Ephemeris. The Lighthouse is the Chicken's Rock Lighthouse in the distance. The nearer structure and light marks the Carrick Rock.

This lighthouse sits at the end of Paradise Island and lights the entrance to Nassau Harbor. Built in 1817, it is the oldest surviving lighthouse in the West Indies.

Did some road trippin' last June. Headed over to the west side of the state and ended up in Grand Haven. Fell in love with this touristy town located on Lake Michigan.

After much anticipation, I finally got to see this lighthouse in person last June! I fell in love with the town of Grand Haven and even though the town caters to the tourists, there's still a lot of charm to behold. The lighthouse is a great example of that!

Taken on Lake Superior

It was road trip time and I headed towards the west side of the state. To see Lake Michigan in all her splendiferous glory. I was not disappointed! There's a saying in Michigan: "There's no sunset like a Lake Michigan sunset!" I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Mere words cannot describe a sunset over Lake Michigan. I wished I could have stayed longer. I'll be back.
