Solitary windmill stands post over the recently harvested grain field at dawn. Bright highlights and long dark shadows show the rolling Colorado prairies bring out the terrain relief under the fluffy layers of monsoon cumulus clouds exacerbated by the massive smoke and ash from forest fires across the Western States.

Ubiquitous high power electric lines span many miles across the eastern Colorado prairies to bring electricity to the burgeoning populations and isolated farmsteads. Low angle post dawn sunlight creates dimensionality with long highlighted ridge lines and deep shadows.

The shadow of the Rocky Mountains cloaks the houses of Green Valley Ranch while a building hailstorm in the distance is brightly lit above the horizon shadow line.

I was in need of some shutter therapy this evening, so a quick trip to the 'old faithful'

This almost looks surreal, but that was our view today at lunch

Cumulus clouds building just out to sea from the cruise ship harbor at Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was on my balcony on board the Coral Princess and was shooting across a docked Westerdam cruise ship.

I woke up to some very dramatic clouds this morning. We had a dusting of snow overnight and the clouds, floating in the sky this morning, are most def snow clouds! Hoping for a white Christmas.

PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO TAKE THIS SHOT ...

The rock formation is locally called the Drinking Dragon by the little Island call the Calf of Man off the south of the Isle of Man. This is a winter sunset. To set up tripod and remote shooting I used an App called Photographers Ephemeris. The Lighthouse is the Chicken's Rock Lighthouse in the distance. The nearer structure and light marks the Carrick Rock.

Sunrise. When you get the sun rising under a flat layer and equal height of clouds it can dramatically light up the clouds. But, only for a short period of time. 5mins after this picture all was uniform grey

I've reached a frustrating point where no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to improve my moon shots. So, I thought I would try something different instead.
