A dragonfly has a rest on a blade of grass.

A dragonfly enjoying the sunshine.

A Common Whitetail Dragonfly rests in the sunshine before patrolling his territory and finding food.

I found this guy flying over the lake, a foot caught on some long grass which was wet and dragging him down. He fell to the water once or twice, but got up again, flying with the extra weight hanging from his foot. I caught him, and carefully held him while untangling the grass from his foot. When I released him, he flew in a big circle around my kayak, as if to thank me, and it was then when I was able to take his photo.

If a dragonfly isn't speeding around then they're taking a long needed break, which is exactly what I like due to how still they stay! caught this little dude in the Cloud Forest of Ecuador

This little dude took me ages to catch! they are so fast and constantly moving, was certainly a challenge to capture him on camera - nonetheless it was very fun to chase for 30mins!

If you listen closely enough, all creatures have voices, and life is brilliant in all forms.

Patience paid off standing by the water

I even managed to get this one in flight.

I saw my first of these about a week ago, for about a second. I've been hunting them ever since.

Parched grass and the first green dragonfly I've ever seen. My first focus stack also.

This big guy landed in the driveway after a hard rain started. So of course I sent the kids in for a container so I could get up close and personal.
