We crept into Cabo San Lucas at dawn late in our cruise through the Panama Canal. Luckily, our cabin and balcony were on the side to watch the play of early morning light along the crags which form Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

This plane passed close by several times. We later found that they were searching for a drowning victim, a 19 year old, who was found next day by someone walking the beach. So sad!!!

The light wasn't great but I found the outlook very relaxing.

As happens, I was on a shoot for something else, and noticed the Promenade lights on the water surface.

Breakfast buffet chef prepares eggs to order. Difficult to set white balance since the foreground porcelain was under florescent overhead lights and the infrared heat lamps were highlighting the chef's face; decided to correct for porcelain white and let the highlights fall naturally on his face.

Just happened to be chatting online with a few members of this group at 2am this morning, and I suddenly had this rash urge to set my alarm for 'stupid o'clock'

So just a little over two hours later, found me ankle deep in the freezing cold North Sea (and yes my boots leak), but results like this make the sacrifices all worth it

Sir William Hillary moved to the Isle of Man in 1808 and began to know the dangerous waters of the Irish Sea which surrounded Douglas Bay. In around 1824 he conceived the concept of a life boat service manned by a trained crew. The idea was new, but soon prompted the creation of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

It was not till Hillary took part in a rescue for a Steam Packet vessel and was washed overboard that he realised the coast was too far to swim to, yet a place was needed for sailors to wait for rescue. Soon after an idea Sir William Hillary had became a reality. Designed by John Welch the Tower of Refuge, as it came to be called, was completed in 1832. Situated upon Conister Rock in Douglas Bay a granite haven in the form of a small castle took its place as a lifesaver for sailors. Built at a cost of which almost half was paid by Hillary himself and the other by subscription. The tower was kept well stocked with fresh water and bread, ready to offered shelter from the weather and sea.

Not the best quality so I added some texturizing.
Really liked the colours of green shoe, yellow garbage can and the blue ocean.

What's the best thing to do on a beautiful day? Grab the camera, a friend and take a drive!

Taken from a sandbar on Woman Key, about six miles off the coast of Key West. The water was so smooth, the sky and water just blended together in the distance and made it impossible to see where one ended and the other began.

A very low tide day...had to walk out quite far on precarious rock outcroppings to get anything worthwhile...but it was worth it in the end.

Beautiful sunset this evening...although "blue hour" was socked in with a bank of gray clouds, so that was a bit of a bummer. Still managed a few good shots before that happened, though.

Often woke at or before dawn on Panama Canal cruise. This morning, a full day at sea, was blessed with a double rainbow arch in the ocean cumulus clouds from the rising sun.

This was such a fun find as I went down to my usual pier for the sunset, wondering how I could make it more interesting. Low and behold a sand artist had been there, meking designs in the sand that day. I felt so blessed. He left his hashtag #FRPART. I looked him up. He apparently usually does this in Santa Cruz. He wrote me back and said that his father's ashes had been scattered at Pismo Beach and that he stops by once in awhile to pay homage to him. I thought it was very special.

I love how this wave broke just perfectly to almost frame the setting sun...
