Was amazed at the many growth clusters of plants growing in the crevices of the marble stones of the pontes (bridges) and buildings throughout Venice, Italy.

2 local boaters hesitate to row their punt under a low ponte or bridge over a small canal entrance off the Grand Canal, Venice, Italy.

Federal Mayumi passing under St. Catharines Ontario's Garden City Skyway with the Homer Lift Bridge coming back down in the background. The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie to bypass Niagara Falls with a series of locks to raise the ships each time to another level and is part of the St. Lawrence Seaway

This structure, the only remaining covered bridge in Ontario was designed by John Bear in 1880, on the authority of Woolwich Township Council, to replace an earlier bridge over the Grand River. Built a year later by John and his brother, Benjamin, the 198-foot bridge was covered to protect the wooden flooring and frame against the elements. Known locally as the Kissing Bridge, it later came under the jurisdiction of Waterloo County. In 1937 the province assumed responsibility for the Guelph-Elmira Road, including the West Montrose Bridge, and its floor and sub-structure were subsequently rebuilt and reinforced.

Clifton Suspension Bridge is one of Bristol's most iconic and historic landmarks. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1864. The world's first modern bungee jump took place on this bridge in 1979, by members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club; they were arrested shortly afterwards.

This is a composite as the parents wanted to take pictures using this bridge as a background. I did not think it was very safe for children and was not going to venture down the 45 degree access and take a chance of my equipment landing in the drink. Next best thing.

The CN Railway bridge over the Fraser River in Prince George, B.C., it is a half mile long and was built
in 1914 and is still in use today.

The Charles Bridge crosses the River Vltava in Prague. It is decorated with 30 statues of saints and other religious figures on both sides.

I went for something quite different from the usual fare in this shot, almost abstract in nature

A quick impromptu trip out tonight, sadly the lights on the bridge are still not fixed so we where somewhat forced to shoot from this angle to maximise the few lights that are still functioning

Sunflare as my ship was passing under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The Skyway is a massive bridge that spans Tampa Bay, connecting St. Petersburg to mainland Florida.

A different angle from which to view the foot bridge over the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in Burnley, as though you were a snail!

My absolute fave local bridge, so named as when the water is calm, the bridge and its reflection describe an infinity symbol

Its a stunning piece of architecture, and lends itself to all sorts of different angles, I literally have dozens of shots from this place, from all times of the day and year
