So you plan a shot, you've thought about for ages. Staying on a small island called the Calf of Man, helping with Voluntary work. Night time shot, M, tripod, headlight, redlight, remote etc..Full Moon ordered, and it came out from behind a bank of clouds at just the right time. Unfortunately, because of the exposed nature of lighthouses it was extremely windy. Had to put my weight on the tripod to hold steady. Despite that, the stars do look a tad blurred. I know this is not a perfect picture, but good practice, in pitch darkness. Nothing is ever perfect :)

This eagle had just chided a youngster who put of a bit of a squawk before conceding and leaving his perch in a fuss.

Fort Washington is the oldest existing fortification erected for the defense of the national capital. This structure was started in 1814 after the original structure was destroyed during the War of 1812. This illustrates the nation's early life military science and architecture. It highlights the high masonry walls, gun positions, dry moat and drawbridge.

The lights in my life.

Those who paint the colours of fall,
will splash red the leaves of the oaks,
fall all who wearily weather the seasons,
heaped in a crunching pile to blow south
for the winter
