Sunrise on the Calf of Man.

Light clouds of ice-crystals at 16,000ft. Moonlight hits clouds at 22degrees = spectrum :)

So you plan a shot, you've thought about for ages. Staying on a small island called the Calf of Man, helping with Voluntary work. Night time shot, M, tripod, headlight, redlight, remote etc..Full Moon ordered, and it came out from behind a bank of clouds at just the right time. Unfortunately, because of the exposed nature of lighthouses it was extremely windy. Had to put my weight on the tripod to hold steady. Despite that, the stars do look a tad blurred. I know this is not a perfect picture, but good practice, in pitch darkness. Nothing is ever perfect :)

I wanted to shoot a scene with a yellow cab in, and there's other images where I have managed this. But this one had the two guys starting to party by the sid eof the road which to me gave the shot some life and realism

Most of the shots I take are when I'm stood firmly on the floor, but I must admit the one looking down on Times Square did involve some dangerous leaning out of a window!

Woodlice are not an insect, for a start they have fourteen legs rather than seven. Their are over 3000 known species of Woodlice but only 37 are native to the UK.

Painted on a garage up and over door, you can see the handle hole! The lines of the structure add to the sinister effect!?

There is a little town on old route 66 between Kingman and Flagstaff Arizona...fun little town with great food, friendly people and very camera friendly

This little lighthouse had considerable interest when it went up for sale last year for £10,000. The birds are Arctic Terns.

Shot from one kayak to the other, where the moth had landed in a very obscure location. The sun happened to be reaching where it sat, and I was able to capture this photo.

This horse was really shy and a bit nervous of me. I kept talking to it in soothing tones to try and stop it running off if I got too close. However, I concede this is far too close but I had to take the shot when I could.

I never noticed how much beauty there is in the common grass that grows in any field. I knelt down and shot this image on Thursday, where I park when shooting photos of herons from my kayak. I had loaded up and was ready to drive away, when it occurred to me to take a photo of the grass where I park and unload the kayak. I particularly like how the 'grass bokeh' turned out on the right side of the photo. Any comments most welcome!

Dean is so aggressive on the bike. You can read his body language, the head leading the way. Brilliant rider, sun glinting off his helmet!

Friday night fireworks mark the end of the Isle of Man TT Races. To get this position and a reflection off the sea means going out to the furthest Pier. Conditions were almost ideal.

Incredibly bored due to the incessant rain and featureless skies of late, I spotted my daughters shoes

I don't come across horses very often plus, it's not doing anything exciting compared with the typical horse shots on here. However, it's a starting point for next time I come across one. :)

One of my best friends gave me this Magnolia as a house warming gift 10 years ago. I think this is the first year it's looking more at home in our garden. :)

I saw this chap's striding silhouette against the window at the Victoria and Albert Museum and couldn't resist capturing the moment.

Thought I'd go for something different than my usual flower shots

A pre-dawn scene on Congress Street in Austin, Texas. The Capitol Dome looms in the background with an ominous red glow, while the streets are lit only by the glow of headlights. Red and green traffic lights, and an array of white "christmas" lights gently dot the canvas of this quiet, peaceful scene.

It was raining heavily. This was the only shot I got from the Empire State Building as my husband warned me I would damage the camera unless I put it away. :(

A great view from the New York Public Library but the window could do with a good clean. :)

It was so busy, there was no chance of waiting for the right composition.

Based on the roses, he is obviously into her; however, her body posture says, "I am just your friend." This was one of a series of young couples seen around the Acropolis, Athens, Greece. Here they are seated on the crest of Areopagus Hill.
