Taken while leaving Colorado Convention Center along Downtown Denver's 16th Street Mall. Heavy overcast and low afternoon sun created interesting light on Larimer Square Clock Tower and adjacent skyscrapers.

Gilded security bars practically hide the gold lettering of the window for Harry's Bar, Venice,Italy.
Harry's is the home of the Bellini, peach juice and champagne.

St Hilda’s Church on the Hartlepool Headland is one of the most important churches in the north of England, believed to be on the site of the monastery where Hilda was abbess in the 7th century. She later went on to found Whitby Abbey.

Chena Hot Springs greenhouse, is heated and powered by geothermal hot spot under the site.

Really liked how the architects used natural stones as facades for Mountain Village Shopping Center above Telluride, CO. Low, late afternoon sun highlighted the colors and layers of this local stone. Like the matte finish of the lighting fixtures at the corner of this building.

Was struck by the weathering damage on this shutter along walkway of Mountain Village Shopping Center.

Most of the shots I take are when I'm stood firmly on the floor, but I must admit the one looking down on Times Square did involve some dangerous leaning out of a window!

The Bahá'í House of Worship (or Bahá'í Temple) in Wilmette, Illinois, is the oldest surviving Bahá'í House of Worship in the world, and the apparently only one in the United States

I was driving past this one night and it struck me that this might make for a long exposure. It is an ethanol plant near where I live.

The oldest part of this early 17th coaching inn was built in 1619. It was allegedly described in the New York Times as "the most handsome inn in the world".

Many buildings have been remodeled over the centuries. Here a doorway with marble frame has been filled with red bricks to frame a window, flower boxes, and black iron security grating.

Practically every building on the 67 islands of Venice is sinking into the saturated, silty soils. The X's and single bars are the end caps of post-tension tendons, which keep the house, its walls, and its floors held together.

Was surprised at the cracked and missing stucco sections on exterior walls which revealed the brick and stone with mortar construction.

Butterflies, an icon for the city of Beijing, form a mural on the elevator back wall above the Four Seasons-Beijing atrium and are visible from each floor.

From an interior terrace of the Chinese Imperial Palace's Forbidden City, the ancient roof lines provide an artificial horizon line for both the the modern skyline of Beijing and a new soaring white domed, Buddhist stupa.

This old barn belongs to some friends...I shot their wedding in there. Some real history here.

This line of creatures along the gable of a Chinese Imperial building inside the Forbidden City, Beijing, China, denotes a building of minor importance among the family apartments. The man riding a chicken and the dragon-like mythological creature at the ends are not counted for precedence, only the animals in the middle, here 3, are counted and the count varies from 0 to 10 animals. Only the Imperial Palace has 10.
A practical need for these is as part of a lightning strike prevention system. Modern society has added a metal bar along the roof crests to augment this function.

"Golden Reflection" My first visit to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California. It was originally constructed as part of the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. The size of the columns and rotunda are massive and beautiful.

Clifton Suspension Bridge is one of Bristol's most iconic and historic landmarks. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1864. The world's first modern bungee jump took place on this bridge in 1979, by members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club; they were arrested shortly afterwards.

The Old Fresno Water Tower was built in 1894 by the renowned architect George Washington Maher.

The Denver Art Museum from the rear alley, the lines in this attracted my eye as I was walking past.

Gilded, spring loaded doorstop holds the main, passenger, locking glass door way open for passengers to disembark from Coral Princess for local, on shore excursions.

Looking into Crooners Martini Bar on board #CoralPrincess. Being a morning riser was able to get many shots before others became active.

Looking across the art deco, upper decks of the #CoralPrincess Atrium. At bottom is a white, grand piano used most afternoons by Igor for tea time relaxation.
The blue circle on the far side marks the starboard side of the on board Internet Cafe. the next lower deck is the Churchill Lounge, the on board cigar and smokers' bar. The perfume, make up and jewelry shop are just above the grand piano.
Ships' decorator made heavy use of natural woods and brass/golden accents for throwback ambiance of the Atrium. On the left, a pair of elevators move passengers between deck in addition to paired stair arches between decks. At top of image is a stylized sky with mirrored ceiling backlit by star-like individual lights. Just below this star field on the left is an abstract ship's prow moving through a sea of anemones and fan coral above a white cascade of lights

Card and game room #CoralPrincess. The ship carried a wide variety of board games and picture jigsaw puzzles. Daily an open period was available for pick up/party bridge games. To the right, a computer screen can be seen in the background glowing in the on board Internet Cafe.

Comfortable reading chairs line the library windows, which look onto the deck just beyond on board #CoralPrincess.

Wavelets create dappled light on prow of Coral Princess, which is docked to disembark passengers from Panama Canal cruise. Wish I had realized name was emblazoned on right side, would have tried to change light settings to show this detail; however, bright sun would likely have blown out lit portions of hull.

It took my breath away to be in this much loved cathedral. Just so awe inspiring. It DEMANDED respect!

University High School located on the campus of California State University, Fresno. Since its completion in 2012, the design of the school has received seven major awards for its architecture.

An old time water tower in a nearby town. I took this a while back and never did anything with it but decided to now.
