So you plan a shot, you've thought about for ages. Staying on a small island called the Calf of Man, helping with Voluntary work. Night time shot, M, tripod, headlight, redlight, remote etc..Full Moon ordered, and it came out from behind a bank of clouds at just the right time. Unfortunately, because of the exposed nature of lighthouses it was extremely windy. Had to put my weight on the tripod to hold steady. Despite that, the stars do look a tad blurred. I know this is not a perfect picture, but good practice, in pitch darkness. Nothing is ever perfect :)

Really liked how the architects used natural stones as facades for Mountain Village Shopping Center above Telluride, CO. Low, late afternoon sun highlighted the colors and layers of this local stone. Like the matte finish of the lighting fixtures at the corner of this building.

Clifton Suspension Bridge is one of Bristol's most iconic and historic landmarks. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1864. The world's first modern bungee jump took place on this bridge in 1979, by members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club; they were arrested shortly afterwards.

Located south of the City of Kingsburg, CA in the tiny town of Traver, is Bravo Farms. It is always a place that catches your eye as you drive past on HWY 99, but are always in a hurry to get to your destination. I had to stop and get gas, so it was the perfect time to explore. To my surprise, it truly is a "Wonderland of Imagination" with a slant to vintage California/Central Valley Americana. One cannot stop exploring the amazing setting full of antiques, food, snacks, sights and sounds. There is also an impressive tree house that children can explore.

There is a new barn on the site that was locked but had openings in windows. The interior seemed to be a place that houses antiques that are yet to be placed in one of the settings of Bravo Farms. The main focal point is a large American Flag at the rear of the barn hanging prominently for all see. The time of day was perfect for the natural light to highlight the flag and add to the scene on the objects contained within. It was through a small window, of only a few inches, that I was able to take this photo. The environment was full of items from times past and a feast for the eyes. I a glad that I finally stopped and actually explored.

I picked a day in which the weather was unfortunately not the best for driving. But I was able to capture a this shot (edited with Lightroom CC).

Grant's Grove is host to a large grove of Giant Sequoias and each year millions of visitors from all over the world travel to see one of natures true wonders.

We had scouted out earlier in the day, where we wanted to set up for sunset. I had been practicing my long exposure for the waves, so I would be able to catch them just right as the sun was setting. It was not very easy. Only being 5'3, I had a hard time standing with the waves coming at me. I even got chased away a couple of times. But, I knew if I wanted to get my shot, I had to stand my ground, and take what the ocean had to give.

The sight filled the northern sky; the immensity of it was scarcely conceivable. As if from Heaven itself, great curtains of delicate light hung and trembled. Pale green and rose-pink, and as transparent as the most fragile fabric, and at the bottom edge a profound fiery crimson like the fires of Hell, they swung and shimmered loosely with more grace than the most skillful dancer.
