The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand
Says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

We went on a trip to Chiang Mai with our hosts while vacationing in Thailand. This wonderful gentleman was in a small shop next the market where our host's cousin had a stall. He has an apparent joy of life which seemed to cheer everyone around him. He refurbishes and repairs furniture.

Used south facing picture window with bright afternoon sunlight as sole light source. Extremely high ISO 12800 and open aperture (f/4.5) to blow out light and hide tree, porch posts, and parked car in background. Tried to manually focus on leading lattice work near center but was fooled by average of front and rear lattices, true image focus is on the plane of the stem.

Oh, can't it be
The voices calling me
They get lost and out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows
That a broken heart is blind

I noticed this bee wasn't very energetic so I kept an eye on it to see whether it would fly away. When it didn't, I thought that perhaps it was really tired and lacking in energy so I went and got some sugared water. I went amongst the plants and tried not to trample them, then carefully spooned some water next to it. I tried to get the water as close as possible without getting it onto the bee for risk of hurting it. It still didn't move for the few minutes I kept watch over it so I smoothed the water over as close as I could. At last, the bee managed to draw enough energy to make a little lunge into the water. I then left it alone and just been to take a look and it's flown away! :D

This little picture was taken at Salmon Valley, British Columbia on New Years Eve. The weather was 23 degrees below 0 ...but having a thermos full of coffee and baileys kept me warm.

Was shooting into another room through an open doorway as the pastor guests gathered for pre-processional prayer. While working in post to bring out the full front portrait using available light, found the silhouette of another made for a more interesting image than my original intent.
I think I may have over processed with cropping, pseudo-HDR process, and light/shadow post work, I see graininess. What do you say?
