Watched the sunrise create a horizon shadow line along the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The circular area in the foreground is a splash fountain for children during the heat of the day; in the mid ground is the lake, its boathouse, and a water jet fountain, with the Denver skyline below the Rocky Mountain peaks.

Wawona Tunnel is the longest highway tunnel in the state of California (length is 4,233 ft). It is one of three main roads which provide access to Yosemite Valley. The tunnel exits to one of the most stunning and most photographed views of Yosemite.

I am blessed with the ability to open my left eye for wide vision alongside my camera while right eye through the viewfinder yields a binocular tunnel on bird in flight. This is one of several I will post seeking detailed feedback on editing of live action to compensate for blown out heavy haze of sea level tropical midday sun.

Earlier this week I decided to take a trip to Sequoia National Park in California. I grew up close to both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and visited both parks several times a year. I picked a day in which the weather was unfortunately not the best for driving. But I was able to capture a this shot (edited with Lightroom CC).

Grant's Grove is host to a large grove of Giant Sequoias and each year millions of visitors from all over the world travel to see one of natures true wonders.

It was a bit 'meh' when I went for a wander this morning around the Durdham Downs, a park near me. It was thick with cloud, a bit foggy and my feet got soaked because I had the wrong shoes on and the grass underfoot was wet from rain and dew. As I resigned myself to the fact I would not get another chance to try and capture the wonder of the trees in Autumn before the leaves disappeared, the sun put his hat on very briefly. :)

I was on a mission today to find some spooky trees and as I walked down this path, I noticed so much in regards to the vibrant colours amongst the bare trees and felt it was a contradiction of sorts.

The way this huge limb had fallen away from the tree and in the manner in which it rested, struck as it was a portal into another dimension, time or place.

I just love using the Hipstamatic app when I'm shooting nature. Today, I chose Tinto 1884 lens with D Type plate film (which is monochrome) and C Type plate film (the colourised version) to replicate an old film effect similar to tin type. There's a fabulous blur/bokeh effect and I felt it to the perfect choice for creating eerie and spooky images.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Plitvička Jezera National Park is undoubtedly one of the most stunning collection of lakes and waterfalls in the world. The waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls. From a photographic standpoint, it is like being let loose in a candy store; more photo opportunities than you could handle in a week, let alone a day.

Walking in the park at Gemini Springs in Debary, Florida one afternoon and saw thus gentle soul walking towards me.
He was beyond interesting....quite the intellectual as I talked to him...at first glance one might think....what's up with this guy? We talked for a few minutes and I asked if I could snap a few shots. Please do he replied...most people think I'm a crazy homeless guy and they avoid me but you were kind and took time to say hello....believe me or not but I was a successful attorney in Orlando and I still practice law till this day. He placed his business card in my hand and said with a sweet smile....thank you for talking to me.
I watched him walk away and I felt that I had been in the presence of a walking angel in disguise.
I have never seen him since that day but I visit the park several times a week...maybe someday he will brighten my day once again.

Though hard to believe, this is an honest representation of the colors in the sky Saturday night. The colors were so saturated, even with a a low exposure compensation the saturation was still peaking the histogram.

Vancouver Island is patchy at best when it comes to our once lush gorgeous rainforest. More in town cougar sightings and bear encounters points to a lack of habitat or habitable areas for them.

We cut down their forest and kill them when they are forced into our space. Something wrong with that.
