Thanks to Pixel Studios, Cartagena, Colombia, who let me take several behind-the-scenes photographs of the post wedding images. Was fascinated by their use of a video drone, as a new piece of equipment, which they used from the newlyweds' exit from the cathedral to include a walk along the 17th century defensive wall under setting sun.

I couldn't pass up this great character I saw... Bet he has some stories to tell

Back in about 1975, I was driving up highway 89 to SLC. I passed this old guy and his wagon and hit the brakes hard.. I went back with my camera of course and struck up a conversation with him. He told me that every spring he leaves Tucson Az headed for Jackson Hole Wy to teach the the boy scouts survival training. I asked if I could take some pictures and he said why sure but most folks tip me a bit to help feed my boys here. I had no problem with that and this is what I came up with. I really thought these negatives were long gone. You can't imagine my excitement when I found them.

This old barn belongs to some friends...I shot their wedding in there. Some real history here.

"Golden Reflection" My first visit to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California. It was originally constructed as part of the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. The size of the columns and rotunda are massive and beautiful.

I took this just down the road from my house. This is the Black Mountains on the west side of my little valley...on the other side runs the Colorado River

Every Christmas someone decorates this lonely tree on an otherwise uninhabited stretch of road. The other day I stopped to have a look.

Gold Table

"I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew." -J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings. California Black Oak leaf located the the Big Stump Trail in Kings Canyon National Park.

Drought resistance is the driving force in our selection of trees, bushes and flowers in our garden. Here the bedding flower was bred for high mesa areas, the Colorado Gold Gazania. Their rayed flowers close in the afternoon, also, called treasure flower.

An "orchard of gold" from the Central Valley of California. The photo was taken between the towns of Sanger and Reedley which are located in Fresno County. Agriculture is the main industry of the Central Valley and stands in stark contrast to the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco. In 2014, Fresno County surpassed $7 Billion mark in gross value of all agricultural based commodities. Almonds, grapes, poultry and milk lead the agricultural values. In total Fresno County is home to 1.88 million acres of fertile farmland. Not only are the orchards beautiful during the fall, but are in full bloom during the spring.

As I wait for the sun to rise, I can feel how cold it was around 11 C .. We never get this weather in the City that is why I always love going up in the mountains to feel that cool weather.. :)

The largest oak tree in the state of Alabama. The band Casting Crowns used this as a backdrop for one of their albums.

Donated a 12x18 metal print of this image to a charity poker tournament for the local Food Bank - it got chosen by the first place winner! Feeling honored.

Golden hour enriches the last of autumn colour

Have been making Golden Rocky Mountain road trips over last several years. This is from the longer gravel road entrance to North Clear Creek Falls at the Rio Grande headwaters area. The bluff in the background is of volcanic origins and a similar stratum creates the vertical drop for the nearby falls. some post work to compensate for midday bright sun, also, used a low ISO and polarizing filter to start compensation.

This stream is a splash of gold amid high mountain sage and grass prairies at north end of Silver Thread Scenic Byway, outside Gunnison, CO.

While touring the snow damage of 2014 in York Pa. I spotted this cold and lonely bench .

Orson bumped my arm while I was editing the curves on this one, ended up liking it so saved a copy.

On the playgrounds of my childhood,
there were slivers and pinched fingers,
there were few safety rails and nothing
was coated with anything called
"Non slip" because
Kids slip, kids slide, kids fall, kids bleed...
but play all day regardless
Children navigate their lives.
In the age of "safety" overhauling,
helicopter parenting, hovering over afraid...
We teach our children to worry, fret, and fear.

Here's to the pinched fingers of the past.

Just a typical fall shot but split with BW to give it a gentle transition.

Taken this morning October 2nd. I stumbled upon a tree farm with vibrant color. This was taken in East China, Michigan. I played with the coloring to add black and white in the dull areas.

Taken north of Richmond, Michigan in the late morning. This Cemetery gave great foreground to the picture and the moon was added in to help set the tone.

This was taken at sunset on the Fraser River here in British Columbia Canada

A few years back (6 I think)I had the privilege of shooting a wedding at the iconic "Eilean Donan" Castle (Have you seen the movie "Highlander") on the west coast of Scotland.
It was an evening shoot because the castle is open to the public during the day so weddings are hosted in the castle during evenings only.
I decided to scout out the location during the afternoon and all I had with me was my Canon 30D with the cheap Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 II Telezoom which has had some real ripping in online reviews from gear snobs (you know the type) but I liked it.
Anyway as I walked around the back of the castle away from the crowds a Golden Eagle alighted on to a wall in front of me. Couldnt believe my luck and using just what I had in my hand I got off a couple before it flew off.
I was pleasantly surprised when I viewed it later and saw the quality. This is a CROP (about 25% of the original) and shot at 400 ISO on an 8mp camera. Once again its not always the best gear that gets the best shot.

Untouched.

This is Devil's Den in historic Gettysburg Pennsylvania! I was not intending to stop here on this day but as the sun rose above the clouds beams of light came popping through shining down on this historic place of battle when two sides clashed for three days July 1 -july 3 1863 leaving 51,000 brave soldiers dead! As I photographed the light I could not help but think how the sun might be warming the souls of the deceased .

An old farm house in Lopez Pa! This farm house was tucked deep in the country found this totally by accident! The colors of fall were definitely calling to be photographed!

Lovely spot in Rochdale for walking, formerly a steam Railway the old tracks now form a scenic walk.

7th August 2015, the Isle of Man Royal Agricultural Show.

I was just walking around town with a friend after lunch and this caught my eye, I made him and my toddler wait while I shot this and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Just the back of an old truck been sitting for a while.
